Funds Loss Risk

Grindy.fun (“we,” “our,” or “the Platform”) does not custody, trade, or hold your assets.  We read exchange data via user-provided, read-only API keys to operate promotional volume contests.  

Nevertheless, using third-party exchanges and trading digital assets carries inherent financial risk.  This disclosure highlights the principal scenarios in which you could suffer a monetary loss and clarifies that Grindy.fun bears no liability for those outcomes.

1 · Market-Price & Slippage Risk

• Volatility:  Crypto-asset prices can swing dramatically within seconds.
• Depth & Liquidity:  Thin order books mean even modest orders can move the market.
• Slippage:  The price you expect when submitting an order on your exchange may differ from the execution price.

Our role:  We neither place nor route orders.  All trading decisions, order sizing, and resulting slippage are solely your responsibility.

2 · User-Execution Errors

• Sending a market order instead of a limit order.
• Trading the wrong pair or quantity.
• Mistyping parameters in your own bots or strategies.

Our role:  We simply tally the volume that actually reaches the exchange.  We cannot reverse or adjust trades executed in error.

3 · Exchange-Side Outages or API Failures

• Temporary downtime, overloaded order-matching engines, or maintenance windows.
• Rate-limit throttling or stale data returned by the exchange’s API.

Our role:  If an exchange goes offline or feeds inaccurate data, we pause volume counting until service resumes.  We are not liable for missed fills, partial executions, or pricing discrepancies that occur during an outage.

4 · Read-Only API Key Compromise

Although your keys are limited to “read” permissions, an attacker who obtains them could still view balances, trading history, or open orders on your exchange.

Our role:  We encrypt keys at rest and rotate secrets internally, but you remain responsible for generating keys with read-only scopes and revoking them if you suspect breach.

5 · Blockchain Settlement & Network Fees

• Rewards are paid to your Starknet wallet; transaction confirmation times and network fees (gas) are outside our control.
• On-chain congestion can delay prize delivery or increase gas costs, affecting the net value received.

Our role:  We broadcast reward payouts promptly and, during Alpha, cover standard gas fees.  We do not reimburse you for external network-fee fluctuations or downstream blockchain issues.

6 · Regulatory or Force-Majeure Events

• Sudden legal restrictions on trading certain tokens in your jurisdiction.
• Exchange insolvency, security breaches, or seizure of assets by authorities.
• “Black Swan” events (internet outages, natural disasters, war, pandemics).

Our role:  We may suspend or cancel contests if an external event makes continued operation illegal or impractical.  We assume no liability for losses arising from such events.

How to Mitigate Your Risk

1. Use limit orders and double-check pair symbols before submitting trades.
2. Size positions prudently relative to average daily volume of the pair.
3. Enable 2FA on your exchange account and create dedicated, read-only API keys solely for Grindy.fun.
4. Monitor exchange-status pages for planned maintenance or outages.
5. Keep local records of your trading activity; reconcile with our contest logs regularly.
